The Tullyglass Hotel was built in 1880 as an exclusive gentleman's residence and was bought by the present owners in the 1950s. The hotel has changed over the years, and it is this growth and development that is believed to have woken the spirit of a young girl called Carrie.
Stories say Carrie died in the bell tower on the property more than 200 years ago. The owners believe she may have thought they meant to demolish the hotel, and that this set off several sightings of her in and around the building. They never intended to do so, and Carrie seems to have got the message and is resting again. She might make herself known again if she thought her home was in danger.
A death more than two hundred years ago does not fit a house built in 1880, which suggests an older site or a later invented detail.
