The seven hundred years in the ghost list is not consistent with the dates of the Glasgow bishop John Cameron, who died in the 1400s, so the identification and the drowned-in-a-pond story should be read as folklore. Wikipedia notes that the earlier holders of the lands were the Bishops of Glasgow and that the present tower dates from soon after 1580. The house is privately owned and occupied.
