HMS Caroline was launched in 1914, served as a combat ship in the First World War and as an administrative vessel in the Second, was decommissioned in 2011, and is now a museum ship moored in Alexandra Dock in Belfast's Titanic Quarter. The Spirited Isle directory says a man working aboard heard the sound of tools moving on the otherwise empty ship, and there has been talk of a stoker who hanged himself aboard at some point and has haunted it since. One evening a woman on a group tour is said to have greeted a stoker who ignored her, though there were no stokers aboard at the time.
