Hauntings

The White Lady of the Old Manor House, Bishopston

Old Manor House, Bishopston, Gower

The Old Manor House at Bishopston is said to have been haunted by a white lady. Along with sightings of her, the household reported strange sounds, and crockery that moved, sometimes together with the sideboard it was standing on.

No date, family name or origin for the ghost is given in the summary available. The combination of an apparition with moving furniture is more typical of poltergeist accounts than of the classic grey or white lady, which may mean two separate strands of story have been joined. It is included as a thin, unconfirmed report from the eastern edge of Gower.

The house is not firmly identified in the sources and is presumed to be a private home.
