The Woman in Brown of the Horsefair Flat

A former council flat, Horsefair area, Broadmead

Mid 20th century, undated

The Horsefair is a street in the Broadmead area of central Bristol, which had council flats built in the mid twentieth century.

HauntedHosts says the family were plagued by a ghostly figure called the Woman in Brown, who was said to have an evil face. She was only seen once, but the family heard footsteps and strange tapping sounds, particularly around their baby's cot.

The family was eventually relocated after sound recordings captured a constant metallic vibrating sound, which the council deemed a health hazard. The listing gives no date or surname. A vibration of that kind may have a mundane cause, and the account looks like a retelling of a press story. It is recorded as a single thin report with a loose pin.
