In 1986 a driver named in the listing as Mark Nursey, followed by his girlfriend in a second car, saw a figure at the roadside on Four Ashes Lane. It seemed to wear a large green jumper and was stooped, with no head or hands visible. One witness put its height at 5 foot 11.
Another witness described a similar figure in 1978, and one reported thinking they had run it down, only to find nothing when they stopped.
The listing files it under Hughenden and Cryers Hill, so the pin is approximate along the lane. Several named witnesses make it better than most, but there is no press source here.
