The Victorian Nurse of Runcorn Cottage Hospital

Former Victoria Memorial Hospital, Holloway, Runcorn

Hospital built 1905; sightings undated

The Victoria Memorial Hospital on Holloway in Runcorn, known as the Cottage Hospital, was built in 1905. The blog 'Paranormal Runcorn' says it was refurbished a few years before 2021 and converted into residential housing.

While it was still a hospital, the blog says, several sightings were reported of a nurse in a Victorian style uniform. It has been suggested that she is the spirit of a nurse who died after falling down a staircase in the building. She was said to be seen operating the dumb waiter that carried items from the kitchen to the wards.

No named witness, date or record of the death was found, and the phrase 'it has been suggested' marks the identification as speculation. The pin is placed by estimate on Holloway, and the building is now private housing.

Converted to private housing.
