Mackenzie lists it among boulder-flinging giants, which he says occur in Angus, Fife and many other counties. He does not give a source for this particular story, and he does not say where in Dundee the stone stands. It is an example of a glacial boulder explained by a myth. Dundee Law itself had a vitrified fort on its summit.
