The claims are thin. A separate Scotland's Stories article on Dunvegan states plainly that its author could not find any real ghost stories from the castle, and that guides who worked there mentioned only uneasy feelings, with none of the usual ghostly pipers or green ladies.
The record is kept because the flag music and piper are repeated in popular lists, but it should be read as a single reported story with no named witness or date.
