The Pot of the Tacharan at Duthil

A saint's well at Duthil, near Carrbridge

Traditional; recorded 1900

Forsyth says that in recent times the ban seemed to have passed away, and that at Clury the hand of the diligent maketh rich. He includes the story in a passage on the sacredness of the snow bunting. The tacharan, a spirit of an unbaptised child, is a rare figure in published tradition. The exact well is not named, so the coordinates are approximate.
