Two witnesses saw the animal in 2001, but the earlier sighting is the witness's own recollection. The eye spacing of eight inches is far too wide for a domestic cat and is likely to be an error of estimation. Calderglen is a large wooded gorge on the edge of East Kilbride where an animal could shelter.
