The Falcon Hotel

Bromyard

The Falcon Hotel in Bromyard has a haunting first documented in 1964 and reported with striking consistency ever since: a young gentleman's voice, heard drifting along the second-floor corridors, calling out a single plaintive question, "Where is Anne?", the same four words repeated by witnesses across decades who could never have coordinated their accounts with one another.

No visual apparition accompanies the voice in any account gathered for this entry, and despite the specificity of the name itself, no Anne, and no gentleman who might be searching for her, has ever been identified anywhere within the hotel's own documented history, leaving the question hanging exactly as unanswered for modern witnesses as it presumably was for whoever first asked it.

What genuinely marks this haunting out from many of the pub and hotel stories gathered elsewhere in this collection is the sheer consistency of the phrase itself across decades of independent witnesses, always the same words, always in the same part of the building, rather than a general, shifting sense of unease or a story whose details change with each new telling. It remains entirely unexplained and unattached to any known historical event at the hotel, a single, unchanging question that has simply never found its answer.

Working hotel; guests may request rooms on the second floor.
