The Anniversary Ghosts of Glencoe

Glen Coe

Undated; modern roundups

Highland Holidays says visitors claim to see scenes of the slaughter or hear screams, and Easyways adds that on 13 February people have reported a ghostly shadow and the sound of the soldiers' bagpipes echoing through the valley. None of these pages names a witness or a year.

The massacre itself is documented. Wikipedia gives 13 February 1692, around thirty killed, and notes the glen was part of the lands of Clan Donald. The haunting stories are modern and unattributed, so they should be treated as local lore, not testimony.
