Hauntings

The Ilmington Church Ghosts

Ilmington

reportedly since the 1790s

Ilmington, one of the highest and most genuinely picturesque villages found anywhere in south Warwickshire, carries two entirely separate ghost stories rather than any single unified haunting shared between them. Ed Golding, a specifically named local figure, is said to have roamed the village continuously since the 1790s, giving this particular account an unusually long claimed continuity stretching across well over two centuries, generations upon generations of reported sightings all describing the very same named man walking the same familiar streets.

Separately from Ed Golding's own long-running story, a woman in white has been independently reported searching for something in and around the village, her actual object of search never identified in any source located for this entry, leaving her purpose as mysterious as her own identity.

Nothing ties the two figures together beyond the simple fact that they happen to share the same village setting, Ed Golding's centuries-long, named continuity standing in genuine contrast to the anonymous, purposeless searching of the woman in white, two entirely different kinds of haunting coexisting within the same small Warwickshire community without ever actually connecting to one another.
