The airman of Magna Park

Also known as: Asda Magna Park ghost

Asda distribution centre, Magna Park, Lutterworth

Reported from the 1990s onwards; undated

Magna Park, a very large logistics estate near Lutterworth, was developed from 1987 on the site of the old Bitteswell airfield. The Hinckley Times noted among the more unusual local apparitions the sighting of a man in flying kit, reputedly seen in the toilets of the Asda distribution centre at Magna Park, built on the site of a former airbase.

Spooky Isles adds that the toilet in question was said to have a stain on the floor in the shape of a man, and that the likely source of the stain was the spectral airman who turns up around the warehouse. Neither source names a witness, gives a date, or says which building is meant beyond the Asda depot, and both describe the report as a reputation rather than an investigated case.

It is a typical modern workplace ghost story, tied to a place with a real aviation past. The sources read give no incident, injury or loss at the site to explain who the airman might be, so the identity is left open and the entry is a single, thinly sourced local report.

Working industrial site; no public access to the warehouse.
