The Secret Causeway to Loch an Eilein Castle

Loch an Eilein, Rothiemurchus

Traditional; recorded about 1900

Wikipedia says the island castle is said to have been the property of the Wolf of Badenoch. Another source says the castle was once the property of the Red Comyns, and was returned to Church authority after the Wolf's sacrilege at Elgin. These ownership claims differ and are not firmly dated.

The castle is a ruin on an island with a walking path round the loch.
