The White Horse of Castle Semple Loch

Castle Semple Loch, Lochwinnoch

Undated tradition

Water horses of this kind are found in many Scottish lochs, and the details here follow the usual pattern of a beautiful horse that tempts a rider and then carries them under the water. The Castle Semple story appears in an interpretive walk leaflet produced by Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.

It is tagged single_report because the leaflet does not give a source and the phrasing is modern.
