The Plague Cloud Buried at Nigg

Nigg churchyard

Traditional; linked to the plague and quarantine years

Miller's own word, apocryphal, is a fair description. The tale is a folk answer to the fear of disease, with the sexton's refusal to dig as a living detail of belief.

Nigg Old Church is a roadside church with its churchyard open.
