The Blue Man Who Followed the Boat

Seas around Skye (place not named)

Told before 1900

His informant was very positive he had himself seen a Blue Man. A blue-coloured man with a long grey face, floating from the waist out of the water, followed his boat for a long time and was occasionally very near the boat.

The Blue Men are not known in Argyllshire, according to Campbell, and the description is not tied to a named place.
