Tiny the dog at Beckford's Tower

Beckford's Tower, Lansdown Hill, Bath

Tower built 1827; reports undated

Beckford's Tower is a neo-classical folly on Lansdown Hill, completed in 1827 for the novelist and collector William Beckford to designs by Henry Goodridge. Beckford died in 1844; his granite sarcophagus stands in the tower's cemetery, after he was moved from Bath Abbey Cemetery at his wish.

The ghost story concerns his pet dog Tiny, said to have been buried by the tower. According to Bath ghost writing, the dog's ghost returned after the remains were moved, and some tellers add that Beckford's own spirit lingers in the graveyard.

Wikipedia's article on the tower records the history above but nothing about a haunting, and the stories I found give no dates or witnesses. It is a modern local legend about a famous eccentric and his dog.

The tower is a museum run by the Bath Preservation Trust; check opening times.
