The Black Lady of the Back Walk

The Back Walk, Stirling Old Town

Undated

Two separate overviews, the Historic Environment Scotland blog and Scottish Paranormal's Old Town Jail piece, mention the Black Lady, and both are candid that little is recorded about her. The HES blog says she creates a foreboding atmosphere for anyone wandering the path at night, and that limited historical information exists about her identity or her reasons for staying.

The Back Walk is a public path, so this is one of the easier Stirling ghost locations to visit, although it should be treated with the usual care after dark. The story is very short and has no named origin.
