The house has a Darnley connection in legend, although the building may not have been built until after his death, so that part of the story is uncertain. The poltergeist is a separate and lighter tale, told in guidebooks and on the Stirling GhostWalk: kitchen items thrown about and lights that come on by themselves.
As with most such stories in commercial premises, the reports are undated and unnamed. It is entered as a single report with a business-lore character.
