Wikipedia says only that the castle is said to be haunted by a green lady and other ghosts, and that the Grampian Television series Beyond Explanation looked into the claims in 2005. The identification with Elizabeth Davidson and the stair fall come from hotel and ghost tour literature, which is not dated or sourced. The castle also has a reported tunnel from its basement towards the old Dingwall Castle, now collapsed in places.
