Every old theatre seems to have someone in the seats who did not buy a ticket, and the Guildhall in Brecon is no exception. The story told about it is that, when the hall is empty or the lights are down, three figures can be seen sitting together in the upper gallery: a young girl and two men. They do not do anything. They watch.
That is all there is to the tradition as it appears in print. Nobody attaches names to the figures, and no account gives a date for a sighting or says who saw them. The Guildhall has had a long and busy civic life, and in recent years it has been let for paranormal investigation nights, which is where the story mostly circulates.
It is worth including for what it is, a local building's ghost that people in Brecon talk about. If anyone who has worked in the building has a first-hand account, it would turn this from a listing into a story.
