Hengrove Park in south Bristol was part of Whitchurch Airport, which operated from 1930 to 1957 and was taken over by the Air Ministry during the Second World War. It is now a park and leisure area.
A short entry on iVisitEngland says the park is haunted by the ghost of a former Luftwaffe pilot who died in an aircraft accident. He is described as walking about the park, seemingly trying to work out where he is. The same paragraph is duplicated in the site's Bristol Old Vic entry, which shows how loosely the list was assembled.
No date, aircraft, crash record or named witness is given. The story therefore has a plausible setting but no checkable detail, and it is recorded here as a single secondhand report.
