The Stranger and the Hanged Man of Stapleton Woods

Stapleton woods, Frome valley

Undated

Stapleton is a suburb of north east Bristol on the Frome valley, with woodland along the river around Snuff Mills and Oldbury Court.

K J Milsom, a Bristol writer, lists the Stapleton Woods ghosts in a roundup of the city's paranormal stories. A man approaches strangers as if to ask a question, then passes right through them. A second spectral man has been seen hanging from an overhanging branch of a tree. The writer speculates the first ghost may be trying to find out about the second.

No dates, witnesses or exact location are given, and the piece describes itself as the author's own views. The pin is placed in the middle of the Stapleton woodland as an approximation. It is recorded as a single report.
