The Headless Horseman of Tyndall Avenue

Tyndall Avenue, University of Bristol, Cotham

Modern reports, undated

Tyndall Avenue is the main road through the University of Bristol's precinct, passing the Senate House and the Wills Memorial Building.

A single entry on hauntedplaces.org says students commonly report a headless horseman while walking along it. No witness, date, or description of how the figure behaves is given.

The headless horseman is a very common British ghost, and Ashton Court across the city has a similar one in its own lore, so the Tyndall Avenue report may be a borrowing. Student ghost stories are often retold on campus tours, but nothing else was found to back this one.
