The database entries are brief and give little of what was said in court, so the outcome of each case is not recorded here. What the entries do show is a cluster of accusations from one small village in a single day, a pattern typical of pricker-driven panics, and the database itself notes that Coutts and Cathie named a large number of people who were later shown to be innocent. Janet Coutts is covered by a separate record for Peebles. The women's names are given as they appear in the database, in modern spellings.
