Hauntings

Footsteps and the Rolling White Animal at Cromarty Castle

Site of Cromarty Castle

Traditional; castle demolished in the 18th century

Miller's chapter describes the castle as it stood in the seventeenth century, when it was the seat of the Urquharts, the family of Sir Thomas Urquhart. The haunting is second hand, given on the word of old servants. The rolling rabbit is the unusual detail, a small animal that behaves like a thing thrown, not a creature running.

The castle no longer stands.
