The Secret Tunnel from Cumbernauld House to the Spur Hotel

Cumbernauld House and Park

Legend, undated

A mile-long tunnel between a mansion and a village pub is unlikely on grounds of cost and engineering alone, and pub tunnels in particular are a repeating feature of British folklore. It is included because it shows the kind of story that grows up around a country house. The park around the house is open to walkers.
