The Dun Hornless Cow and Gairloch House

Gairloch House and Carr Point, Gairloch

Attributed to the 1600s; printed 1877

Mackenzie adds that Gairloch House, or the Tigh Dige of Kenneth's day, was the old house standing in the park to the right as you go from the bridge to the present mansion, with walls of wattled twigs thatched with turf.

The steamer reading is the compiler's own parenthetical gloss. The prophecy is one of several he lists as not yet fulfilled in 1877, and the book does not say when or from whom it was collected.
