The Angels Who Met Emchath in Glen Urquhart

Glen Urquhart (Adomnan's Airchart-dan)

Said to be 6th century; written c. 700

The identification of Airchart-dan with Glen Urquhart is the translator's and has been accepted by later writers. It gives the glen one of its earliest written references. The story is typical of Adomnan's interest in angels meeting the souls of the righteous, and he has Columba see them from a distance before arriving.

There is no physical site tied to the account, so the coordinates are for the glen in general.
