The Cardwell Bay Carcass

Cardwell Bay, Gourock

Summer 1942

The description is of the kind that gets compared with a plesiosaur. The 1942 newspaper reports point to a basking shark, whose rotted remains commonly take the long-necked shape when the gills and jaw fall away.

The point is on the bay, not the exact spot.
