The Mad Ghost and Falling Ghost of Dartford Heath

Also known as: Mad Ghost of Dartford Heath

Dartford Heath, near Oakfield Lane and Bracton Lane

Undated, reported in modern times

Dartford Heath is an ancient expanse of common land, partly cut through by the A2, on the south side of the town. Spooky Isles records two ghost stories attached to the area around Oakfield Lane and Bracton Lane.

The first is the Mad Ghost, described as a semi-transparent figure that reportedly shouts "No food No food", jumps erratically, laughs and then disappears into the air. The second, the Falling Ghost, comes from a cyclist who encountered a pale figure murmuring "I'm not well" before it vanished.

Neither story comes with a date, a witness name or an earlier source, and both are very short. They are listed here as local reports of the kind that gather around open heathland at night, with the pin set loosely on the heath rather than at a specific spot.
