The two items come from the Fortean Times, issue 28, quoting the Herald, the Daily Record and the Aberdeen Press and Journal. They are separate reports of the same week, in the same part of central Sutherland. Predators other than a big cat are an obvious alternative for sheep deaths, though the crushed ribs were taken as pointing to a powerful animal.
