Llanvihangel Court stands at the foot of the Skirrid, a big stone house with gardens and an avenue of old trees. It was remodelled in the 17th century and has changed hands among several gentry families.
Its ghost list, as given by the Great British Ghost Tour, is a crowded one for a single house. There is a white lady, whose story is not told. There is a man in an old-fashioned coat and knee breeches who walks the grounds. At the head of the staircase, two men are said to fight a duel with swords to the death, over and over. And a young visitor once reported seeing a little green man with green eyes, which sounds more like a fairy than a ghost.
No dates, names or explanations come with any of these. They are recorded as a single-source tradition for a house that is usually private.
