The Water Cure at Fox Point

Fox Point, Loch Maree (exact point not confirmed)

Recorded 1880s

When the loch was very low coins were often found among the pebbles by the point, and Dixon was told that a man found five not long before he wrote, though he never saw them. He adds that bottles of Loch Maree water were sent to invalids elsewhere in firm belief of its power.

The exact position of Fox Point was not confirmed here, so the map pin sits on the loch itself.

No specific site; the loch is visible from several lay-bys on the A832.
