The report is given in a Kent Big Cat Research article on the so called Beast of Bexley and other London sightings. It says a Mr Irvine saw a large cat at Hayes Common in Bromley in 1993, one of several reports from the outskirts of London that never made it into the press.
He was driving to work at around 6.45 in the morning when a charcoal grey cat, with rosette markings showing through the coat, bounded across the road about fourteen feet in front of him. He described a smallish head, small ears and a very long tail.
No newspaper coverage, police record or second witness is cited. It is one witness account passed on by a researcher, which is why it is tagged single report. The pin is at the common, not the exact stretch of road.
