The Yetnasteen Giant of Rousay

Yetnasteen, Rousay (near the Loch of Scockness)

Undated tradition

Yetnasteen is a standing stone on Rousay.

The story is that the stone was once a giant. Each New Year, at midnight, he comes back to life and goes to drink from the Loch of Scockness. It parallels the Watch Stone legend at Stenness.

The pin is approximate because I could not fix the stone on a map, and the Wikipedia article on Rousay gives only the one sentence of lore.
