The Harris Prophecies of the Raven and the Stone

Scarista and Tarbert, Harris

Undated oral prophecy

On top of a high stone in the Scaristavore parks the raven will drink its fill of men's blood, and the tide of battle will be turned back by Norman of the three Normans, Tormod nan tri Tormoidean, at the Steps of Tarbert. The prophecy is of the doom type that is attached to many Highland districts, announcing a last battle at a named place.

Campbell gives no informant or date and mentions no battle that fulfilled it. It is included as a record of how Harris places were drawn into Hebridean prophecy.
