Haunted Rooms describes Fitz Manor at Montford Bridge as a house that can be traced to 1450, held by the Bailey family since the 18th century and now run as a bed and breakfast. It says the house has featured in paranormal television programmes.
The reported haunting is disembodied screaming from the drawing room. A story attached to it says a priest was found out for his sexuality and crucified against the wall of that room. The same page mentions a Victorian lady who appears in the Red Room and in the churchyard.
The crucifixion story appears with no source, date or name, and sounds more like a late invention than a documented event. It is included as a modern ghost story attached to an old house. The pin is placed at the settlement of Fitz, not the house itself.
