Ecclesville House was the seat of the Eccles family near Fintona and stood as a large country residence for generations before it was demolished in the late 20th century. Nothing of the original house survives.
One tale remains in local memory, of a female ghost known as Aunt Hessey. Spirited Isle makes a point of how unusual it is. No apparition was ever said to have been seen. Instead witnesses described the distinctive rustle of a silken dress moving through the former drawing room, as if a woman were passing between the furniture in quiet evening light. On at least one occasion a guest said they heard someone playing the piano although the room was empty.
Tradition links the sound to a former female member of the household remembered only by a nickname. The directory notes that no contemporary written account confirms who she was or whether the story comes from real family memory or was attached to the site later as folklore.
