Hauntings

Leamington Spa Railway Station ghosts

Leamington Spa Railway Station, Old Warwick Road

Station built c.1938 to 1939; reports up to 2014 at least

The present Art Deco station dates from just before the Second World War. Spooky Isles reports that passengers and railway staff have described unexplained activity for years.

The reports centre on a disused basement beneath platform three and the upper floor of an office building. Doors are said to slam with nobody nearby, electrical equipment turns itself on and off, paperwork is found scattered and drawers open for no clear reason. Some staff and commuters say they have seen figures on the platforms.

The one firm detail is the 2014 appointment of Nick Rees as supernatural liaison officer by Chiltern Railways, which shows the company took the reputation seriously enough to publicise it, even if lightly. The accounts found do not name individual witnesses or give dates for particular incidents, so this is best read as a station with a long running local reputation.
