Wilfy of the Hole in the Wall

The Hole in the Wall, 9 Market Street, Armagh

Undated; reported in the 2020s

The Hole in the Wall on Market Street, Armagh, is a cosy traditional pub in a building described as around 400 years old that once served as a jail. Both Spirited Isle and Spooky Isles mention a friendly ghost, affectionately known as Wilfy, who is said to be most active in the bar area.

Spooky Isles adds that Wilfy is not to be confused with the pub's resident parrot. Neither source gives an identity for Wilfy, a date, or an account of anything he has done. The jail history is the only reason offered for why the building might be haunted.
