In 2002 a newly built housing development at Prospect Park in Ardoyne, north Belfast, became the focus of intense paranormal reports. Even before the houses were finished the site had a reputation among locals for strange activity. When families moved in, the disturbances became so persistent that the Northern Ireland Paranormal Research Association was asked to investigate. The local parish priest blessed several of the homes.
One house was said to be haunted by a young boy, whom residents described seeing sitting quietly at the top of the stairs, appearing and disappearing without a sound. He was never aggressive, but the repeated and clear sightings left the occupants unsettled.
Spirited Isle calls it one of the best documented modern hauntings in Belfast because of the number of eyewitness accounts and the involvement of investigators and clergy.
