Queen's University was founded in 1845. Students say they have seen apparitions in corridors, and in the library an elderly gentleman is said to walk through a solid wall, accompanied by mournful cries.
A tunnel is said to link the Ashby and David Keir buildings. The buildings stand opposite the Friar's Bush graveyard, and the tunnel runs beside the mass grave called the plaguey pit. Several staff are said to refuse to use it because they believe it is haunted by those buried a few feet away. People report cold spots along its length and being touched by unseen hands. Haunted Rooms says workers report unseen hands and disturbing cold spots and that staff refuse to enter.
Spirited Isle adds a story that two staff members rushed through it in fear, one holding the other's hand, and found at the far end that their colleague was well behind them, so it was not his hand they had been holding. The compiler calls this one fanciful.
