The name Ben Ledi has been read as 'hill of God', an interpretation made by the Reverend James Robertson, the minister of Callander in the late 18th century, who reinterpreted Beinn Leathaid as Beinn le Dia. That reading is contested, and the supposed Beltane link is best treated as tradition with suggestive place-names, not something proved. There is a cross on the summit.
An old corpse road is also said to cross the hill from Glen Finglas to St Bride's Chapel by the Pass of Leny.
