Falling Sickness and a Cursed Horse at Crook of Devon

Crook of Devon

1662

These are the malicious charges in the case, alongside the charge of devil worship. The confessions said Satan appeared as a man and made covenants by having the accused put one hand on the crown of the head and the other on the sole of the foot and hand over all in between to his service. The accusations are as reported in the trial papers, which were extracted under long imprisonment and questioning.
