The Dumbarton Witch Burnings

Dumbarton town centre

1624 to 1695

The number accused is from the survey. The eight women burned at McLean Place and the details of their treatment come from a newspaper piece on a ghost tour, which repeats local tradition, so the detail is less secure than the survey figure.

Dumbarton's witch cases include the Bonhill case of 1697, recorded separately.
