In the graveyard of Dundonald's Church of Ireland stands the Cleland Mausoleum, said to be the tallest known tomb in Northern Ireland. Eliza Cleland had it built in 1842 in memory of her husband Samuel, who died aged just 34 when a wall collapsed on him. Samuel is buried inside with his parents.
Visitors to the graveyard have reported hearing soft whispers near the mausoleum, voices with no visible source that circle the tomb before fading into silence. The entry gives no further detail.
